Cristian Terheș

Cristian Terheș is a Romanian Member of European Parliament on behalf of PNCR (Romanian National Conservative Party) and ECPM.

In the European Parliament, he is a member of the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) and a substitute on the Civil Liberties & Justice Committee (LIBE) and the Petitions one (PETI). Terheș holds degrees in Theology and Communications. He was a clergyman of the Greek Catholic Church and also worked as business analyst.

During his 2019-2024 mandate, he became known for his criticism of the European Commission and its president Ursula Von der Leyen concerning the lack of transparency in the contract negotiations with vaccine giants during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also spoke out against the curtailing of freedoms during lockdowns and the implementation of the so-called ‘green travel certificate’.

He is a fervent advocate for individual freedom, transparency, Christian values, and the sovereignty of EU member states.
