Christian politicians from all over Europe explicitly promoting Christian values in politics and society

Anja Haga

Anja Haga is a Dutch Member of European Parliament on behalf of ChristenUnie (Christian Union) and ECPM. She succeeded MEP Peter van Dalen (CU/ECPM) in September 2023. In the European Parliament, she is member of the Parliamentary Committee on Fisheries, a member of the Subcommittee on Human Rights, of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, and part of the Delegation for Relations with South Asian Countries. Haga is a former member of the Provincial Council of Friesland and former alderman of the city of Arnhem. Additionally, she worked as strategic policy advisor for the Dutch Forestry Department. Ms. Haga lives together with her husband in Dokkum, the Netherlands.

Bert-Jan Ruissen

Bert-Jan Ruissen is a Dutch Member of European Parliament on behalf of SGP (Reformed Political Party) and ECPM. In the European Parliament, he is member of the Committees on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) and Fisheries (PECH). He serves as vice-chair of the EP Delegation on relations with Israel. Before his election to the EP, Ruissen worked for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature, and Food Quality. He was also a city council member in his hometown Krimpen aan de Ijssel, where he lives with his wife and four children.

Helmut Geuking

Helmut Geuking is a German Member of European Parliament on behalf of the Familien Partei (Family Party) and ECPM. In the European Parliament, he is a member of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. Mr Geuking lives in Billerbeck, Germany with his wife and three children.

Cristian Terheș

Cristian Terheș is a Romanian Member of European Parliament on behalf of PNCR (Romanian National Conservative Party) and ECPM. In the European Parliament, he is a member of the Committee on Budgetary Control (CONT) and a substitute on the Civil Liberties & Justice Committee (LIBE) and the Petitions one (PETI). Terheș holds degrees in Theology and Communications. He was a clergyman of the Greek Catholic Church and also worked as business analyst.

Márton Gyöngyösi

Márton Gyöngyösi is a Hungarian Member of European Parliament representing Jobbik Konzervatívok (Jobbik Conservatives) and ECPM. He studied economics and political science and worked as a tax consultant before dedicating himself to full-time politics. From 2010 to 2018, he served as member of the Hungarian Parliament where he was the vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee. As an MEP, he is a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and of the Delegations to the Africa-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly and to the African, Caribbean and Pacific States- EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Gyöngyösi is married and has a son.

Karin Heepen

Karin Heepen is a German politician and president of BündnisC – Christen für Deutschland. Heepen holds a degree in civil engineering and cross-cultural leadership. She works as a lecturer in Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology and Ethics at various educational institutes. Ms. Heepen serves as the vice-president of ECPM since 2022.

Jean-Frédéric Poisson

Jean-Frédéric Poisson is a French author, writer, philosopher, and an experienced politician driven by the fight to protect human dignity, freedom, and family values. From a young age, Poisson has been socially engaged and served his community in various forms. He studied philosophy and law, holds several master degrees and a doctorate in bioethics.

Mindaugas Puidokas

Mindaugas Puidokas is a Lithuanian politician currently serving his second term in the Seimas (Lithuanian Parliament). He is president of the LKDP (Lithuanian Christian Democratic Party). In the Seimas, Puidokas served as deputy chair on the Committee on European Affairs. Currently, he is a member of the Committee on Health Affairs. In 2019, he ran for the presidential elections in Lithuania. Puidokas is married and has two children.

Jūlija Stepanenko

Jūlija Stepanenko is a Latvian lawyer and politician. She was member of the Saeima (Latvian Parliament) for two terms, 2014-2022, receiving significant voter support in the 2018 parliamentary elections. During her time in the Saeima, she served on the committees for Legal Affairs, European Affairs, and Sustainable Development. Stepanenko is married and has four children.
